Hi Roger, I hope you are the one I still contact re: Stagecoach buses. The 8.30am No.14A did not turn up yesterday (11/12/03) and the 9.15am bus was 10mins late. (Roger's note - this was due to a broken down bus blocking a lane of the A428) Today the 7.45am No. 14 did not show - people waited over an hour opposite Morrisons as the 8.30am No.14A was 15mins late. The service from Cambourne to Cambridge in the mornings is getting worse. No wonder people are resorting to cars again. Regards. Margaret 18/9/03 Hi Roger, Just keeping you informed about the Stagecoach buses again. On Tuesday 16th September the No. 14A bus due to leave Cambridge at 4.55pm, did not arrive. The 5.15pm No. 14 bus did arrive but it was a coach and not nearly large enough to accommodate all the people waiting. Some people were left behind and there were 18 people standing all the way to Hardwick. 17/9/03 Dear Roger just another stagecoach problem to add to your collection. This term stagecoach took over the running of the school bus from Lower Cambourne to Comberton, Sarah informed us that since the beginning of term, the bus drivers have been asking the children to direct them too and from school as they do not know the way, or where they are supposed to stop. Having reported this to stagecoach for the 2nd time today, I was informed by Ken Foster that if the bus drivers did not know the way, or they had to alter the driver at the last minute they WOULD NOT be able to run the service, i.e. the schoolbus. I have left messages at Cambs Education Transport Dept and will speak to them tomorrow, I will also speak to the school again tomorrow and make them aware of this. If I need to speak to anybody else please let me know. Hi Roger, (18th August 2003) Just to let you know that the 7.47am No. 14 failed to arrive today. We waited 45 mins for the 8.27am which did arrive. Regards. Margaret 15/8/03 Dear Roger, The No. 14 green and yellow shuttle bus DID turn up last night at 5.15pm - and a driver appeared. BUT ... as well as the normal problems with the bus (which is gas operated and dislikes Maddingley Rise), the clutch was slipping and the driver was having major problems keeping it running at all. We crawled along, stopped several times in lay-bys to let traffic past and caused massive traffic problems on the A428. I felt so sorry for the driver who did so well getting us safely to Cambourne. As we pay fares for riding on this awful little bus and certainly last evening there was a safety issue as well - I feel Stagecoach should at least provide a road worthy bus at 5.15pm. Regards. Margaret 23/7/03 Hi Roger I ended up taking my other half to work this morning as the 0915 number 14 did not turn up. Possible because Cambridge was gridlocked - I suspect due to the Silver Street roadworks, and a lorry which had shed it's load of sand on the roundabout linking huntingdon road, elizabeth way etc. Having said that, over the last 2 weeks many of the buses have not arrived either on time, or at all. Cheers Lynne THE 14 BUS FAILED TO TURN UP ON MONDAY 7TH JULY, THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME OF YEAR, IF THE BUS FAILS TO TURN UP LET ME KNOW, IT WOULD ALSO HELP TO NOTIFY THE PROJECT OFFICE AS THE DEVELOPER CURRENTLY SUBSIDISES THE BUS, THE EMAIL LINK BELOW WILL COPY TO THEM TOO Stagecoach 7.45am bus has for last 2 mornings actually stopped on the roundabout at the Business Park rather than go in as it should (Andy 9/7/03) THE Number 14 was at least late this morning no bus by 7-25 (10/7/03) On the 16th July 2003, there was no bus #130 through Lower Cambourne travelling to Cambridge at 0948h, 1048h and 1148h. It is possible that the 1248h service also did not arrive. The 1348h service arrived at 1345h and did not wait till the scheduled departure time. Some members of my family actually waited at the bus stop for over 3 hours from 0935h and therefore this is indisputable evidence. Hi Roger just thought i would let you know
I hope people were not waiting for a bus tonight a bus turned into Greenhaze Lane at 10:10 and went back down Monkfield Lane .
rather than going on through Cambourne - this has happened before at this time. |
