"THERE WILL ONLY BE 4 AND 5 BEDROOM HOUSES NEXT TO YOUR HOME" (WE FELL FOR THAT ONE)......"THERE WILL BE A PUB (WE ALL FELL FOR THAT ONE)"........"THERE WILL ONLY BE A MAXIMUM OF 3300 HOMES (REMAINS TO BE SEEN)"...... "CAMBOURNE WILL BE A VILLAGE (STILL HOPEFUL)"......."THE PLAYGROUND NEXT TO YOUR HOUSE WILL NOT BE NOISY"....... THERE WILL BE A COMMUNITY CENTRE (BUT NOT AT 1000 HOMES, WHEN IT IS DUE)...... WE WILL PROVIDE A STORAGE AREA FOR CARAVANS (DUE AT 300 HOMES !)......YOU CAN HAVE AN ALLOTMENT (BUT WHEN ?) ........."THERE ARE NO PLANS FOR MORE ROADS AFFECTING LOWER CAMBOURNE (FORGET ABOUT THE CAXTON BY PASS DID THEY ?)

THESE ARE ALL ACTUAL COMMENTS FROM EXISTING RESIDENTS THAT HAVE BEEN TOLD TO ME.

Please also remember that most houses in Cambourne do not have to pay management charges, these schemes are set up to pay for electric gates, some street lights, some grass cutting etc.

In this situation you are unfortunately paying twice for some of these, you still pay the parish precept (as part of your council tax) and these management charges, some roads are seeking to manage their own schemes, as they are not being cost effective or as reported - in fact not doing much apart from charging a fee. Orchard Way residents are doing a takeover.
