Chare will Fix it ?

Thanks to the Cambridge Evening News / Cambourne Weekly further promotion of the Streetlight Issue in Cambourne.

I laughed pretty loud when I saw the comment of David Chare, project director for the Cambourne Consortium. For the consortium of developers to say that the lighting situation is reviewed every six weeks is, as we all know only too well, total rubbish.

Bovis I am pleased to report have made progress Willow Lane, Tithe Way and Chapman Drive have been fixed. Ringway (I believe on behalf of Project Office), did fix 2 lamps on Greenhaze Lane. But missed 3 others that were tagged!!!!

I went out this evening (15th February) and tagged another 27 lamps in Lower and Great Cambourne (note 4 lamps are faulty in the The Hub Car Park!!!) So as a running total I have found ~80 faulty lamps in Cambourne!!! if the project office is to believed then these all failed in the last 6 weeks!!

ACTION IS REQUIRED!!! FIX THESE STREETLIGHTS FOR THE BENEFIT AND SAFETY OF THE COMMUNITY!!!

I am more than happy to buy Mr Chare and/or his resident engineer a fish and chip supper after work one evening and take a stroll around Great / Lower Cambourne in darkness and point out the remaining faulty lights that have been tagged!!!
