Howard Fall (PC chair) and I had a meeting with the footpaths officers today (4th Aug). A diversion has been agreed verbally, a fence adjacent to Oakdene has been put up offering an alternative to using the original path through Oakdene to Lake 2. It is necessary at least until January 2005 to divert the footpath where the new lake is now being built to the left of UC09. Equally it will not be safe to use the footpath from the Ark/Skateboard area until the road system is in place for the new school. All this work should be finished in January 2005 when restrictions will be removed. Maps will be erected on the footpaths as soon as possible. Signage will also be changed and gates erected Roger The footpath no. 2 north of Oakdene has been closed for reasons of pubic safety and a diversion is now in place. An application to seek approval for the temporary diversion between Oakdene and the rear of Great Common Farm was submitted to CCC on 5 April 2004. The signs are necessary to alert the public's attention and will be monitored regularly to ensure any missing signs are replaced.
regards This is a temporary diversion, necessary to permit the development to proceed and that we the Highway Authority are simultaneously agreeing a permanent diversion that will go around the new lake |
