Embargo Lifted

A recent "Closed to the Public meeting on March 2nd 2005" at SCDC agreed to lift the ban on planning approvals of market homes, despite there being no apparent progress on the trailer park

Cambourne Trailer Park and the Embargo Minutes:

The Head of Legal Services distributed a confidential memorandum from him to Members of the Development and Conservation Control Committee, and a copy of a confidential letter from Solicitors acting for the Cambourne developers to South Cambridgeshire District Council. Members discussed the issues raised.

1. Members will recall lifting the "embargo" on issuing planning permissions for market housing at Cambourne at the March meeting, in order for the developers' consortium to progress the legal matters associated with the provision of the trailer park. This report updates Members on progress with the trailer park, as requested at the March meeting

Link to decisions

35. Cambourne - Affordable Housing

Decision:

No further action at this stage, in line with the amended recommendation of the Director of Development Services.

Decision:

36. Cambourne - Hodgkinson's Land (Residential Development)

Resolved that planning permission for Hodgkinson’s Land residential be issued, both because it is illegal to tie it to the Section 106 Agreement and because its issuing will enable the provision of the trailer compound, and that no further planning permissions be issued on land covered by the S106 Agreement until the matters required to secure the provision and operation of the trailer compound have been agreed.

So the embargo returns, no permissions will be issued for market housing. Why don't the developers show SCDC the contract for the trailer park - does it exist ???

I can feel a campaign coming on -
"sign a contract not build signs"
"Buildings not notices"
"facilities not just signs"
