Name A Lake

EXTENDED DEADLINE DATE FOR THE NAMING OF THE LAKES COMPETITION

MAKE YOUR MARK ON CAMBOURNE

Consortium launches competition to name a lake Residents of Cambourne are being invited to make their mark on the Cambourne community forever by coining names for two of the new lakes at the development. The originators of the winning names will receive either a meal for two at the Cambridge Belfry or if they are a child they will be awarded WHSmith vouch-ers. The lakes will join Lake Ewart and Redgrave Water in being named by residents of the community. Lake Ewart is named after a resident’s husband and Red-grave Water after sportsman Steve Redgrave. Residents could take inspiration from something which is close to their hearts, something topical or simply something quirky as a name for the new lake. Please send entries to Teresa Snazle at Cambourne Project Office, Cambourne Business Park, Building 2020 or email:tsnazle@georgewimpey.co.uk by

MONDAY 11TH JULY.

The winner will be announced at the Cambourne Summer Festival in July.

Lake 7 - on the roundabout at the end of Broad Street - has been named Lake Lambert, after Gerry Lambert who was the first South Cambs Community Development Officer in Cambourne.
The Lake was the first to be built and welcomed the first settlers in Cambourne just as Gerry did.

Sadly Gerry died of cancer late in 2004 age 36.
