OAKS WOOD CAR PARK

I have arranged for the car park to stay open until 7pm during the summer months to allow visitors to enjoy the longer evenings.

In the autumn, probably when the clocks go back, it will close at 5pm again until the following spring.

There have recently been problems with people using the car park as a race track and doing 'doughnuts' during the day. Sometimes their number plates have been taken and reported to the police.

The PCSOs have told us that this will result in them placing a warning on the vehicle and driver so that next time they commit a traffic offence their car will be crushed.

It is therefore very important that anyone who sees people behaving anti-socially in cars tries to get the number plate and a description of the car and offender and reports it to the police to the usual number, 0845 4564564.

We will also be working out what structures (bollards, etc.) we can put into the car park to try to stop them using it in this way. I hope this will help everyone that wants to use the car park responsibly, please let me know if you have any other queries.
