TAXI CAR SCHEME
If you experience difficulties with transport, the Cambourne Taxi Card Scheme may well solve your problems
The Cambourne Taxi Card Scheme is for people who have difficulties getting to or using public transport.
Those who do not have access to a car or any other means of transport can also use the scheme. Taxi Card vouchers offer travel with participating local taxi companies and Cambridge Dial-a-Ride at a subsidised rate.
You can use the scheme to: · attend medical appointments, including Addenbrooke’s or Hinchingbrooke; · shopping in Cambourne and Cambridge.
The scheme is simple to start and use. Firstly purchase booklets of vouchers in advance from Cambridgeshire County Council, telephone on 01223 717755.
Vouchers cost 0.75 pence each and are available in booklets of 10 or 20. Each 0.75 pence voucher has a value of £2.50 (two pounds and fifty pence). You can then book a taxi with a participating company and use the vouchers to pay towards the fare.
Vouchers can also be pooled together with other Taxi Card members to make journeys even cheaper.
