For many years Mike and Roger personally delivered welcome packs to all new homes, a new community without any other source of information.
The packs finally stopped when the library and the SCDC offices opened
WELCOME TO CAMBOURNE !
CAMBOURNE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
WELCOME INFORMATION PACK
Dear New Resident,
We are very pleased to welcome you to Cambourne, we are working hard to ensure that all new residents share our feeling that something special is developing here.
Each newly occupied home in Cambourne receives this information pack folder from the Residents Association and South Cambridgeshire Community Development.
The pack contains useful contacts, details of groups in the area, local service provider's etc.
If we can be of any further help please contact any of the residents association or call Roger Hume another resident who prepared this pack - telephone 201808 or call in at 13 Willow Lane email Roger.Hume@ntlworld.com
Or ring Mike Jocelyn who delivered this pack 203674 - email mikej@visionlights.com
If you have any particular skill that you would like to share or offer to other residents please get in touch, we hope soon to establish a scheme that allows you to buy services with a points exchange scheme from baby sitting to plumbing.
We also need help with various activities that we organize, a rapidly growing village needs a constant influx of new blood and ideas.
We are conscious that residents are keen to keep an eye on the development as it progresses over the next 10 years.
Displays of planning applications and proposals for Cambourne can be seen in the garage of 13 Willow Lane (Tithe Way end) by appointment or any time at weekends when the garage is usually open, there may not be anyone around but you are welcome to just go in and look.
We hope that you will respond to the various planning applications that are regularly made, like any new building each has to be presented to the District Council and copies of these applications are on display. If you do not see what you are looking for then please ask, as it is not always possible to display everything.
Also let us know if you are having problems with your move here, we may be able to offer advice from our experiences.
